Music is a huge deal to me and I’m generally listening to it as often as I can. When I’m jabbering here on the Internets, it’s very important to me to have some tasty fresh jams percolating out of my speakers. Saitek must have realized there’s plenty of us out there who don’t want to be confined to our iPod, computer, hell - our televisions! With this said, they came up with a fantastical little handheld speaker that lets you take it wherever you want (In relation to 2 meters away.) and as long as you have that iPod, MP3 player or even my personal favorite - PSP - you can keep that bass heavy speaker up to no good.
Within the box to the Saitek iFreedom are some wonky papers, including an instruction booklet and a folded up piece of paper. It proved to be that the folded up piece of paper had all the information on it that I needed! This produced a chuckle out of me and I hooked up the USB cord to the tiny headphone outlet transmitter so that it could charge, then sent the music on my laptop on over to the iFreedom speaker. What came of it was crystal clear sound, a deliciously toned bass and masterful clarity - something one would expect out of the bigger names like Sony, Phillips, Logitech and Creative. However, Saitek impressed me with this and I even tested how far I could take the speakers around my dining room and living room before the sound cut out and was pleasantly surprised with just how far you can stretch their 2 meters.
The only major qualm I had was with having to reconfigure the transmitter everytime I used it. Perhaps this was a rookie mistake and there’s a simpler way around it but I never read it. In the future versions, maybe Saitek can work in a configuration log that saves into the transmitter. However, that’s the only fluke I could see and that just takes a simple double-click of the lit-up buttons on the transmitter. It’s a fabulous sound machine with very little drawbacks in the long-run. Enjoy the iFreedom at parties where stereo setups aren’t available, during sexy-times in bubble baths or just plain wherever you want your music and your corded machines and docks can’t go.
Welcome
