The PodOLock : Challenging Thieves to be Delicate

Say you encased your laptop in a thin (relatively) sheet of acrylic. Okay, then go ahead and tie some yarn to it and then tape that yarn to your desk. You know what? Go ahead and make it a thick steel chain, like the one they use to hoist anchors out of the water. Yeah, THOSE. After you do that — wrap a bunch of duct tape around it and to the drawer of your desk. Yes. Tape. Not tons, just enough to make it apply.

Then leave.

If someone doesn’t yank that little bastard out of your desk and run out, they’re either containing more moral fiber than a lot of the people I know — or they didn’t see it. The PodOLock makes no sense to me as it’s basically a clear, thin case to the iPod Shuffle that can be easily hindered with a simple pair of pliers. Oh, and that cable? It comes with an adhesive strip to smack onto the surface of your choice so that the chain doesn’t come loose. You know, because once you put an adhesive anything (Except for government issued adhesive. That shit means it.) on a surface, say goodbye. Right?

I intend on following up on this PodOLock and if this thing does work after my strenuous testing (And we’re talking Candice’s Seal of Approval) we’ll make it the TEK of the Month.
