Coming Soon: “Pirates” TV.

Whoa, calm down there Federal Communications Commission. We’re not talking about that kind of pirate TV. It seems that “Pirates”-mania knows no bounds. Or at the very least, it doesn’t end in Japan. Disney has just recently announced a new “Pirates of the Caribbean”-themed line of electronics made by Runat that’s aimed at the younger set (also the “totally stalking Johnny Depp/Orlando Bloom/Keira Knightley set”). The end result is… Pure magnificence.

Look at that! That’s a 14″ screen with a skeleton on top of the set, skull and crossbones on the speakers, and bones to control the television set. How much more awesome do you need this set to get?

But beyond that, there’s even more awesome (Arrsome? No? Just thought I’d try it out.) electronics to be had. Check out the treasure chest CD player.

Modeled after the Dead Man’s Chest, you can place your CDs in the the box and close the heart-shaped lid over it!

But the most fantastic thing I’ve seen from this, and possibly the crown jewel of the entire set has got to be the captain’s wheel DVD player. I could sit here and let you revel in how incredible the mere existence of such a device is, but I’ll be nice about it.

The only possible negative about this is that Runat and Disney missed a golden opportunity to allow people to skip chapters or make menu selections or do anything involving spinning the wheel. This hasn’t officially been announced for North America yet, but I assume that Disney still likes money. Hopefully we’ll see it soon.
