Disney Does New Jersey

In a bit of a departure from the Disney Channel’s more family-centric programming, somebody at Comcast’s Lincroft, New Jersey station decided it was time to expose all the kids watching the channel to what was apparently described as “hardcore pornography”. Jennie Sherman and her kids were apparently watching “Handy Manny” (I swear that isn’t the name of the porno! Scout’s honor!) yesterday morning, when the avant-garde programming came on.

CBS affiliate WCBS-TV in New York City reported that the Comcast Spokesman, Fred De’Andrea issued this statement in regards to the issue:

“At around 9:30 EDT this morning we had an isolated issue in a local New Jersey Facility. We immediately detected the issue and it was corrected promptly…We apologize to any customer who experienced an issue this morning. We are continuing to investigate the root cause of the incident.”

Comcast stressed that this was in no way the Disney Channel’s fault, and that in order to hopefully rectify the situation they credited Mrs. Sherman with one month of free service from Comcast. But honestly, that’s a really weird situation. How would you deal with accidentally exposing your young kids to porn? How did Mrs. Sherman react to it, you ask?

“We were just sitting here and the screen just froze and then all of a sudden I saw very graphic pornography on the television and I scrambled to get the remote to shut it off,” Sherman told WCBS-TV in New York City..

Sherman said she immediately recorded the X-rated graphic video on her DVR. She then e-mailed wcbstv.com to report the shocking news.

“Basically because I said my husband is not going to believe this,” she said. “I was in shock, I pressed record and shut the television off.”
