This is the first installment of “TEK Plays:” which will find your average writers here on TEK (As well as other writers here at Advanced Media Network.) playing through the online games that people are talking about. Not only will we be checking out the technology involved in the process of these games, but we invite other players of games such as this to join us in quests and show us places that show amazing achievements in graphics and sound. Honestly, “TEK Plays:” is for you the reader to help mold the article and sound off what you want to see more of and wished you would’ve in that particular game.
Our game this month is “The Lord of the Rings Online: Shadows of Angmar”. If you’re in the game and want to let talk with us in-game, let us know. Everyone who’s ever played a game with Candice knows all too well that she’s a blast to play with. Make sure that you add Candice if you play LOTR:O!
WoW, GW, and LoTR:O (fricken acronyms) should get together and decide who is the best in an all out rumble. I would defend WoW’s honor with my stubby and tubby Dwarf Pally.
I hear the Lord of the Rings game is almost identical to WoW, is that true?
Having played WoW since launch, I’d say not really. The interface is similiar, as is the basic quest system, but there is a lot more under the hood of the game when you get into it. The Deed system in particular is quite different…by completing certain tasks you are rewarded with upgrades to your skills, new titles. new powers, etc. It’s quite nifty.
