Penny Arcade Adventures: On The Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness

Millions of gamers are locked in the universal closet known as the internet. To keep their sanity and avoid claustrophobia, they turn to the internet comic Penny-Arcade. Normally Tycho and Gabe can only bring laughter to these closet-cases in 2D form, but gamers will soon be treated to the first Penny Arcade video game.

Independent developer HotHead Games is working on the verbosely titled Penny Arcade Adventures: On The Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness. It’s being released for PC, Mac, and even Linux. The game’s expected to be released in downloadable episodes with the first being released later this year.

Features include:

• Hilarious, over-the-top dialogue written by Jerry Holkins in a style that will be familiar to Penny Arcade fans.
• Progressively unravel the game’s mysteries through classic adventure game play.
• Battle an array of zany enemies with the RPG combat system.
• An interactive Penny Arcade comic: customize the look and dress of your character and explore the unusual world of New Arcadia.
• Set in a steampunk meets pulp horror meets H.P. Lovecraft alternate Penny Arcade universe.
• Gabe, Tycho, Annarchy, The Fruit F*cker 2000 and many favorite Penny Arcade characters, plus new characters designed by Mike Krahulik.

Ron Gilbert, creator of classic adventure games The Secret of Monkey Island and Maniac Mansion, will be contributing his talent to the development process. With that kind of support, we can be sure at least the game design will run smoothly.
