Ring of Death Refused By UK Repair Company

The most widely spread Xbox 360 tale is of the “ring of death”. The title alone is enough to send chills down gamers’ backs. The story usually begins with a gamer leisurely enjoying their favorite murder simulation game. About the time said gamer is close to achieving their goal, the ring of death appears, and the unit crashes. It always comes without warning. By the time the gamer has realized what’s happened, their character is already dead. Terrifying.

Micromart, a repair specialist based in the UK, is refusing to aid any more victims of this horrible tragedy. A Micromart employee by the name of Jeff Croft stated, “We were seeing about 30 units a week before we pulled the plug on the service”. On a long enough time line, those numbers could be enough for Microsoft to pull the plug on production. Mr. Croft went on the describe the cause as a motherboard problem. Micromart eventually wrote to Microsoft about the reoccurring issue, but received no reply.

This could possibly be a regional issue specific to the units in the UK, but as with most folklore, restriction to one area isn’t too common.
